"I do what I love, and I love what I do!"
A “Chiropractic adjustment” is the use of a specific force in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is “locked” up / fixed, or not moving properly. Adjustments help restore joints to proper motion and bones to normal position, relieving musculoskeletal pain.
The vertebral bones that make up your spine (and protect your spinal cord) can get out of alignment or stuck / locked up, losing their normal motion and/or normal position. Nerves can become irritated or “pinched” by the lack of joint motion or misalignment of bones. If an examination reveals malfunctioning areas of the spine, Chiropractic adjustments are recommended to help correct this condition.
Adjustments help normalize spinal function and joint mobility. When nervous system (spinal cord) function improves in this way, the body can continue its natural healing process more efficiently and effectively.
There are many ways to adjust the spine: “Manual adjusting” refers to using the doctor’s hands. “Instrument adjusting”/ “low force” refers to using instruments that are specifically designed to deliver a highly accurate thrust / adjustment.
After years of training, each doctor has selected a specific method, or combination of methods, and has become skilled in their delivery.
Dr. Cain tailors each Chiropractic adjustment, and therefore the variety of technique(s) used, to the patient’s age, size, and unique skeletal / spinal problems. For example, some patients may receive all manual adjusting, some may receive all instrument adjusting, others a combination of both…whatever their body needs, or what the patient prefers.
